WebPiazza Marina's main sight is the Palazzo Chiaramonte, or "Steri," actually a fourteenth century castle. It was erected in 1307 by the powerful Sicilian baronial family from whom it takes its name. The Chiaramonte family took part in the wars waged by the Sicilian nobility against the Angevin French.
